The GIMP 2.0

The GIMP 2.0 image editor, is yet another piece of perfection produced by the open source community. Like all other open source codes, the major contribution in this version is also made by some college students. It contains almost all the features that one can find in the latest Adobe Photoshop version. In fact, it can be said to be one step ahead of that and I have found in great while designing roller banners.

Trends

Posted on Jun 9, 2010 09:00:04 AM

There is a trend in our society and it goes something like this:

Person A: “How are you today?”

Person B (Just had the worst day ever: wife left him, lost his job, fell down a cliff-side with his mistress the weekend before and is now suffering a sprained ankle, burnt his mouth on a pop-tart in the morning after stepping on a gift left there by the dog that the wife bought and left behind, especially to spite her Read the rest of this entry »

Stress Factor 10

That bit at the start of the Michael Douglas film ‘Falling Down’, where he’s sitting in traffic and everything just gets too much and he flips out and leaves his car right there on the road, that’s often how I feel. I’d like to think that I am capable of stopping myself from going on the rampage, but the truth is that we all have our breaking point, and every now and again something pushes us over it – small Read the rest of this entry »

It would be great if we could totally relax.

It would be great if we could totally relax.

With the chaos of day to day life it is hard to take a moment to just relax. You always feel that there is something to be done. There is no time to just sit back and breath for a minute. Stopping and smelling the roses is a thing of the past. Now we worry about not smelling them but pruning them, watering them, and making sure they have proper sunlight.

What if there was a way to enjoy total Read the rest of this entry »

Command and Conquer

Command and Conquer

Now in its fourth era, the Command and Conquer franchise started way back in 1995. With its basic graphics and basic RTS (Real Time Strategy) gameplay, Command and Conquer was, nevertheless, a huge hit.

You played as either the Brotherhood of Nod or the GDI (Global Defence Initiative), two factions fighting it out to control the world’s supply of Tiberium. Tiberium is a strange alien crystal substance that contains many precious metals and is the resource in the game that Read the rest of this entry »

Writer Without A Cause.

Posted on Apr 28, 2010 11:09:26 AM

If you are a creative person by nature, then not being able to express yourself can seem like the most frustrating thing in the world. Authors can often suffer from writers’ block and artists will also experience ‘idea droughts’ from time to time. Songwriters run into problems when putting a track together and there is an equivalent ‘creative blockage’ in any other type of art.

But why does this happen? If you are a creative person, then shouldn’t you have Read the rest of this entry »

The Great Mustache Debate

Remember back in the 80s–

When you got a job it was for life (I am told repeatedly by my father). And life meant life: it meant security, a regular source of income, and clocking in. It meant busting yourself to reach targets, but being rewarded with the kind of…Well…Rewards few in the modern age can dream of. This was how it went: You started work after school—who needs a degree?—and then you went straight in to good old fashioned Read the rest of this entry »
