Posemaniacs - Free web art tool

For budding artists, the internet is a fantastic place to go to find inspiration, tutorials and advice. With websites such as the amazing Conceptart.org around, there is no shortage of resources that one can utilise. One of the best sites that I have found to help me in my quest to become a better artist is Posemaniacs.
Whereas sites like Conceptart can help you with critiques and advice based on an image you have already produced or are producing, Posemaniacs helps you to develop your core skills when it comes to drawing the human anatomy.
The anatomy is one of the hardest things to learn, and yet arguably, the most important. So it is a good idea, if you are serious about becoming an artist, to force yourself to learn it (unless you have previously studies for a locum doctor job, then you probably won’t need to). Getting a good anatomy book is a great way to start, you can learn much by studying these books and copying the images from them for study purposes.
However, one of the most overlooked skills to learn is how to draw the anatomy quickly, with a few basic lines. This is where Posemaniacs comes in. They have, on the website, a brilliant 30 second drawing tool. Anatomical poses flash up on the screen for 30 seconds at a time and it is your job to draw the entire figure in a loose manner. This will teach you how to recognise the important aspects, such as angles and outlines, when drawing the human body.
Of course, Posemaniacs also offers the chance to draw the male or female form from virtually any angle and in any pose to challenge yourself. A useful hand drawing tool is also available. This program is free and it is absolutely brilliant. Try to spend 5-15 minutes on this site every day to improve your skills.
