A True 'Fable'.

Imagine what it would be like if someone made a medieval version of ‘Grand Theft Auto’. You could still have missions to complete, bad guys to kill and targets to achieve. Well, probably the closest you are going to get to this is with ‘Fable’…

You start the game as a young boy and, after training at ‘The Guild’, you must then make your way through the world completing whichever missions you choose. The reason I liken it to ‘Grand Theft Auto’ is because much of the gameplay is very similar; you can choose different hairstyles, beards and tattoos. In fact, you can even get married! Like GTA, you can also choose what sort of person you will become. Will you opt to abide by the law and your conscience or would you rather be a bad boy?

In ‘Fable’ your personality will actually be visible on the outside of your character. If you are good then you will develop a halo above your head whereas if you choose the dark path your character will soon sprout horns. Being nice is obviously the wisest choice but the programmers understood that many players would find this a bore…

The world of ‘Fable’ is huge. It is probably not quite as large as that of GTA but it is not too far behind. There are spells to master, numerous weapons to choose from and even character names to be bought! If you enjoy free-roaming action/adventure games then ‘Fable’ is well worth checking out. It is not the sort of game that you will finish within a couple of days but it is the sort of game that you will play again and again.

A hell of a lot of work has gone into ‘Fable’ and it shows. It boasts some beautiful graphics and the sound is really atmospheric. If you like video games and you have a sense of adventure then you’ll love this!

Tony’s surprise party: I think I know what we should do. Who would be up for a abrupt trip and spending a bit of cash on some italy skiing.
