I have always had a bit of a soft spot for post-apocalyptic movies. There is just something great about a few people fighting against unspeakable horrors in order to survive. You could almost see the scenario as being quite appealing. Life would certainly be far more straightforward in a lot of ways. Think about it; if it was just a simple case of survival then you would be living by your own rules and no-one else’s.
My own favorite post-apocalyptic films to date are probably ’28 Days Later’, ‘I am Legend’ and ‘Dawn of the Dead’ (the original George A. Romero one). There are quite a few others that I could mention, such as ‘Children of Men’, but I am not sure that they would sit comfortably in the same category.
I am unfamiliar with the book of ‘The Road’, but the film looks promising. I really hope that it is worth the wait.
Incidentally I’ve almost finished the work over on the kerosene suppliers page. It’s never going to be as liked as the quick fix I delivered for the biodiesel storage tanks page, I’ll go live with it until I have more time. As long as I keep the boss happy, it’ll be fine fot the time being!
